Arsenal’s midfield player Gabriel Martinelli has opened up on some of his challenges he experienced at the club last season.
The Brazilian was speaking in an interview while he was on International duties with his national team where he spoke about what he had to get more playing time when he was not getting it last season. According to him, this was the most difficult period of his career at the club but he was able to get to full swing after meeting with Mikel Arteta.
He said,
“Arteta has always been great with me. When I wasn’t playing as much last season, I went to his office, and he reassured me that I would get my chance. I am so happy that I took my chance when I got it. I really love this club.”
He also spoke about the ambition of Arsenal since he joined the club and what they tend to achieve under Mikel Arteta.
“Arsenal is not about finishing fourth. Arsenal is about titles. The league. The Champions League. That’s what the fans deserve. Mikel has always been great with me. When I wasn’t playing as much last season, I went to his office, and he reassured me that I would get my chance. I just want to play every game, you know? But we have a lot of games. I understand. I am so happy that I took my chance when I got it. I really love this club.”
How many goals has Gabriel Martinelli scored for Arsenal this season?
The midfielder has not had a lot of goals to his name this (2025/26 season). He has scored just one goal across all competitions.
