Former France international William Gallas has named Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha as the best in the world.
Gallas, a former Arsenal and Chelsea star, said that Arsenal and England midfielder Declan Rice is one of the world’s best but not the very best.
Many pundits and fans have hailed Rice as the best midfielder in the world, and some others have said the same about Chelsea’s Moisés Caicedo.
While Gallas acknowledged Rice’s outstanding performances for both club and country, he still believes PSG and Portugal midfielder Vitinha is superior.
“Maybe he [Rice] is one of the best midfielders, but not the best, because I think the best midfielder at the moment is Vitinha,” Gallas told OLBG.
Vitinha, 25, has been exceptional since joining PSG in 2022. The Portuguese midfielder helped the French Ligue 1 giants win the league title, the Champions League, and other trophies last season.
