Actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington has revealed that she went through a life-threatening experience in June, which resulted in an unexpected surgery.
The Wedding Party star shared her story on Instagram on Sunday, explaining that the incident occurred during a ministry trip to the United Kingdom with her husband, Banky W, and their son.
“Long read, but please stay with me. I could have lost my life in June of this year. I went through a horrific incident that landed me in unplanned surgery. The surgery was ironically the least dramatic part of what I went through,” she wrote. “We were in the UK to serve God, attending two speaking engagements one in London and the other in Manchester.”
Recalling how close she came to losing her life, Adesua reflected on God’s mercy and protection:
“If even one single detail of that day were different, I wouldn’t be here today. I shudder when I think about it… I have become even more aware of the goodness and presence of God. Like a map, I can literally look back over that day and trace how His hands were all over that situation. There is nothing anyone can tell me, God is real!”
She ended her message with an emotional note to her followers:
“Let’s be softer, kinder, gentler, forgiving, patient, loving, and peaceful. I will never take another day for granted. Neither should you.”
