Controversial Nigerian activist and social media critic, VeryDarkMan, has alleged that the government has no intention of releasing Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
According to him, the authorities are deliberately using court proceedings as a façade to give the public a sense of progress while secretly ensuring Kanu remains in custody for years.
VeryDarkMan claimed that several prominent South-East leaders are also complicit in Kanu’s continued detention, accusing them of playing a behind-the-scenes role in his arrest and silence.
He asserted that the long-term strategy is to keep Kanu imprisoned until old age, stressing that his periodic court appearances are nothing more than a public show to maintain appearances of due process.
The activist’s comments have stirred fresh debate online, with many questioning the sincerity of ongoing legal proceedings and the broader political dynamics surrounding Kanu’s case.
