Former Big Brother Naija housemate Leo DaSilva has weighed in on the heated conversation surrounding land sales and accusations of tribalism in Lagos.
According to Iguma, many Yoruba elders quickly part with family property often to Igbo buyers then lavish the profits on luxury cars and personal indulgences, leaving their communities with nothing to show for it.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), DaSilva agreed with Iguma’s assessment and criticized Yoruba elders for bringing embarrassment on their people.
“Lol, this narrative of Yoruba elders selling family land to our Igbo people that’s where I will always blame us Yoruba people. Everyone is now using it to make fun of us. Your parents, who are greedy and fighting their siblings for property they didn’t work for, caused this,” he wrote.
DaSilva maintained that internal greed and family disputes are the real reasons outsiders now own significant portions of land in Lagos.
Iguma had earlier emphasized that the Igbos did not “steal” land in Lagos, but legally purchased it. He urged Yorubas to hold their own elders accountable and recommended that if they feel overwhelmed by non-indigenes, their leaders should focus on developing new seaports and international airports in other states to distribute commercial activity beyond Lagos.

@princejama:”That video was triggering. I know Scott was trying to make a valid point, but he should have stated his points without making it so offensive to the Yorubas.”
@richard_chingy:”If Nigeria were supposed to be a country at first, no one would bring up the issue of Tribe it should’ve been one country. Have you heard anyone from America attacking another American for buying their lands.”
