Fabio Capello, former England manager, has revealed that former Real Madrid striker Ronaldo Nazario was the best footballer he ever coached in his managerial career.
Ronaldo was Capello’s former player during their time together at Real Madrid.
The Brazilian retired from professional football some years ago.
In an interview with Marca (via MadridXtra), Capello disclosed that he kicked Ronaldo out of Santiago Bernabeu due to his lifestyle.
“The best footballer I have coached during my managerial career is Ronaldo [Brazilian],” Capello said.
“Ronaldo did not like losing weight; he liked life, and I kicked him out of Real Madrid.
“But if you ask me who is the best player, it is him easily, by far,” he said.
