Nollywood actor and filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji is once again reflecting on his journey.
On his Instagram page, he recalled how people questioned his colleague, Yewande Adekoya, when she handpicked him for a role, but she stood firm and saw the future.
He noted how, from that humble beginning, he looks back today, and all he can do is Alhamdulilahi. Lateef said that when his personal production didn’t work in 2007/2008, he almost gave up, but he kept hustling and did lots of free work before heaven smiled on him.
“Quick one, who remembers my first ever movie I produced personally? I know many of you would say ‘Wale Danger,’ but you’d be wrong.
My first ever movie was O se regi. It was a movie I produced in 2007/2008. It was a project I put everything into, but God had other plans.
Fast forward to 2013, after years of pro bono work, and sweat and blood on the journey to becoming the Adedimeji Lateef you know now.
Kudi Klepto, a production of Yewande Adekoya (@yewandeadekoyaabiodun). When she handpicked me for the role, people questioned her, wondering who I was, but she stood firm. She saw the future; look at God today…
From that humble beginning, I look back today, and all I can say is Alhamdulilah. When my personal production didn’t work in 2027/2008, EMI omo lile, give up ke? God forbid bad thing!
I kept hustling and did lots of free jobs before heaven smiled on me with Kudi Klepto. Here is me telling you to never give up, determination and hard work have their reward”.
