The D’banj Seyitan issue has set a lot of social media critics apart. Some supporting D’bank and saying that a person is not guilty until proven guilty while others are behind the victimized Seyitan who alledged that D’banj raped her sometimes ago.
There are rumors that D’banj lost his endorsement as brand ambassador deal with heritage bank.
Some set of critics are saying that Seyitan is trying to tarnish the pop star image and pull him down owing to the fact that we run failed justice system in the country.
There were also unconfirmed stories and counter allegations that D’banj decided to use the police to bully Seyitan and force her under duress to rescind her allegations about him. It was alledged that Seyitan’s phone was seized and used to tweets support for D’banj while there’s still investigation going on.
Accusation should be subjected to scrutiny not based on hearsay or the believe all women because rape is more of a gender issue. Rape is bad so is false accusation.
But it will be very disheartening if it later turns out to be false accusations.The man’s reputation may not be able to recover from this, even if he’s declared innocent.
It is important to note that the court doesn’t judge based on rumours or social media influences.
This is why the story is a two sided coin.
