Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has declared herself an extremist as she opens up on her relationship with people.
In an interview with Morayo Afolabi Brown, Funke said she is an extremist as she loves so hard and is real and open. The box-office queen admitted that she isn’t perfect, but she can be troublesome.

She recalled how her late mother used to caution her against trying to change people into her image, noting that not everyone can be as smart or fast as she is.
“I am not proud of that, and I am proud of it. There must be a balance.
I am an extremist, I love so hard, and I am real and open. I am not perfect, but I can be troublesome. My mother, when she was alive, would tell me that people can’t be like me, they can’t be as smart and fast as I am, and I should calm down.
Funke disclosed that her colleague, Uzee Usman, changed her perspective on her relationships with people. She said he told her that she is a leader and should accept people as they are.
“I thank God for someone like Uzee Usman in my life. There was a day he sat me down when I was complaining about people’s behaviour. He told me that I am a leader and I should accept people as they are.
For the first time, I sat down, and I was quiet. I left my food, almost in tears, because what he said was true. I told him I would try to manage”.
Akindele noted that human relationships are very important, hence why she is still learning every day. However, no matter what happens, she always puts her mental health first.
“Human relationships for me are very important, and I am learning every day, but no matter what happens, my mental health is paramount”.
