Imisi Ayanwale, the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, has issued a detailed public response to allegations made by her mother, who claimed she had been abandoned and left living in poor conditions despite Imisi’s ₦150 million prize money.
The controversy erupted after Imisi’s mother posted videos online on November 16 expressing frustration.
In her response shared on Instagram, Imisi questioned the timing of the complaint, noting their strained relationship prior to her fame. She pointed out the long periods of absence from her mother during her struggles.
“Before I won BBNaija, I was living my life and you would not even call me in one or two years, so why is there a problem now? she asked.
Imisi insisted that she has continuously supported her mother financially, even recently:
“God knows I have tried. I still sent you money last week and four days ago. Will I kill myself?
She also explained the difficulty of dividing her prize money given the new expectations from her extended family:
“I cannot take N1 out of the money I won for anybody’s comfort. I have 100 people in the family looking up to me alone.”
The reality star concluded by highlighting her mother’s lack of presence during crucial times in her life:
“You were absent during the toughest phases of my life.”
