BBNaija Season 10 winner, Imisi Ayanwale’s mother, has broken her silence amid widespread claims that she abandoned her daughter and only returned after Imisi became famous and wealthy.
The allegations resurfaced online, with many suggesting she reappeared solely because her daughter is now a celebrated reality star.
In a viral video, she expressed deep gratitude to God and to Nigerians who have supported her throughout the controversy. She said:
“I’ve received mercy from God. Thank you so much to all Nigerians. I’ve been staying with my younger sister in Ajah. Even though some people didn’t want me around, others accepted me, clothed me, and fed me. I’ve been happy and at peace.”
Addressing accusations of neglect, she insisted that her silence was intentional and rooted in wisdom, not guilt. According to her, keeping quiet was a conscious decision not a sign of weakness.
She also recounted the moment she learned about Imisi’s eviction from the Big Brother house, revealing that she was informed only a few hours before it happened.
“I wasn’t told until about 4 p.m. to get dressed because Imisi would be leaving the house that day,” she said.
She ended her message with an emotional appeal, urging Nigerians to choose kindness over criticism. “Let’s stop tearing each other down. Let love lead instead of hate.”
