Buzzing Nigerian singer, Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, popularly known as Qing Madi, has revealed that her mother played a pivotal role in her career.

The 17-year-old singer credited her mum for discovering her talent and encouraging her to do music professionally.

Speaking with reality star, KimOprah in a recent episode of Hip TV programme, Trending, Qing Madi stated that her mum was more passionate about her talent than she was.

She added that she wanted to be a lot of things but not an artiste.

“I didn’t realize I could sing, my mom did. She was the one that was very forward with my career when I wasn’t passionate about it.

“She wanted it more than I wanted it. I wanted to be a lot of things, not an artiste,” the ‘Adenuga’ crooner said.

Qing Madi gained prominence after her 2022 single ‘See Finish’ and its 2023 follow-up, ‘Ole’ featuring BNXN went viral on TikTok.
