A Nigerian entertainer popularly known as “Fake Flavour” has spoken out to clear the air about accusations that he impersonates highlife star Flavour N’abania to deceive people.
In a recent interview, the performer explained that his intention has never been to scam or exploit the singer’s reputation but rather to pay homage to someone he genuinely admires.
He revealed that he performs at events for between ₦700,000 and ₦800,000, noting that the real Flavour would never perform for such a fee. According to him, this alone should make it clear that he is not pretending to be the original artist for fraudulent gain.
“I’m not using Flavour’s name to scam people; I just love him. I get paid ₦700k–₦800k for a show, and Flavour would never perform for that amount,” he said.
The look-alike added that he has immense respect for the award-winning singer and only draws inspiration from his music, style, and stage presence.
Social media users have shared mixed reactions while some commend him for being transparent about his admiration, others argue that his resemblance and stage name could still mislead fans.
