A Nigerian TikToker identified as Mirabel has spoken out about the r@pe allegation she previously made in a viral video, stating that she may not have been in a clear state of mind at the time.
The content creator, known on TikTok as @mirab351, had earlier alleged that she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man at her residence in Ogun State. She also claimed that the alleged attacker injured her private parts with a blade, a statement that sparked widespread outrage and concern on social media.
Following the viral claims, the Nigeria Police Force confirmed that it had launched an investigation into the matter. The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, stated on Thursday that the command was looking into the allegations.
However, in a recent development, Mirabel reportedly told social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), that she had been using drugs and might have been hallucinating when she made the claims.
Her latest statement has further intensified online reactions, with some users expressing sympathy while others continue to question the credibility of the initial allegation. The police investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
