Rita Daniels, the mother of popular actress and billionaire politician’s wife, Regina Daniels, has finally broken her silence on her daughter’s much-talked-about marriage.
In a viral video circulating on social media, Rita disclosed that she never wanted her then 18-year-old daughter to marry a 60-year-old man. However, Regina stood her ground and went ahead with her decision.
According to Rita, after the marriage, many people blamed her, accusing her of forcing or selling her daughter to an older man. She clarified that she was not aware of the relationship when it began and did not support it initially.
“When Regina got married and the whole world blamed me, saying I forced her to marry a much older man or sold her to an elderly man… What they didn’t know is that even I didn’t know when they started their relationship,” Rita said.
She revealed that she was actually the last person to find out about Regina and Ned Nwoko’s relationship. Upon discovering it, she confronted her daughter to understand what was going on. To her surprise, Regina reacted stubbornly and, for the first time, spoke to her harshly.
Rita added that, as a mother, she eventually decided to stand by her daughter and offer her the best guidance she could, even though she did not support the marriage at first.
