Nollywood actress Oluebube Obio has addressed the criticism and insults directed at her following her appearance at an ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign event.
The actress recently came under scrutiny on social media after videos showing her at the political gathering surfaced online, prompting reactions from some Nigerians who questioned her presence at the event.
Amid the backlash, Oluebube took to social media to explain her side of the story, revealing that she allegedly did not willingly attend the gathering.
According to the actress, her decision to appear at the event was influenced by circumstances she described as beyond her control. She also expressed concern for her personal safety and asked her supporters to pray for her.
She wrote:
“To all those people angrily shading and insulting me as in relation to the ongoing APC campaign, I understand your pains and know that you guys are disappointed in me, but there’s something deep to it.
“I was actually forced to be in such settings, my life and safety is not guaranteed, if you watch the video closely, I myself felt so much discomfort and stressed up.
“When the time is right I will expose the people blackmailing me, the least you can do is to pray for me.”
Her statement has since generated further reactions online, with fans and social media users debating the circumstances surrounding her appearance at the campaign event.
