I went into stealing because Yahoo business no longer pays – Suspected thief nabbed in Delta confesses

A 25-year-old man, Emeka Osemel, was arrested for stealing a mobile phone in Boji-Boji Owa in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State

Speaking in an interview with Ika Weekly Newspaper, the suspect, a resident of in Alihame Community, confessed that he had been involved in internet fraud, popularly known as “Yahoo Yahoo,” for a long time, making money from unsuspecting victims.

According to him, he had been living comfortably from the proceeds of the illegal activity until recently.

“For the past six months, the Yahoo business has not been paying me again. Because of that, I decided to start stealing people’s properties just to survive,” he said.

The suspect, who said he is originally from Aliagwai Community but resides in Alihame Community, pleaded for forgiveness.

“I want you people to please forgive me. It will not happen again,” he added.

Osemele was apprehended by members of the Owa Youth Vigilante, a security outfit formed under the auspices of the Owa Youth Council.

As at the time of filing this report, officers of the Nigeria Police Force from the Owa‑Oyibu Police Division had arrived at the headquarters of the Owa Youth Vigilante to take the suspect into custody for further interrogation.Nigerian Culture Showcase
