Nigerian social media personality VeryDarkMan has sparked reactions online after publicly calling out activist and politician Omoyele Sowore over the case involving businessman Linus Williams, popularly known as BLord.
In a lengthy statement, VeryDarkMan accused Sowore of failing to reach out to him privately regarding the issue and instead choosing to confront him publicly.
“Dear Omoyele Sowore, I know you have never liked me. You had every means to call me on the phone as a younger brother regarding this Linus Williams (Blord) matter. Because of the respect I have for you, if you had asked me to let it go, maybe I would have. Instead, you decided to test your strength,” he said.
He went further to issue a strong warning, challenging Sowore to take similar actions as BLord.
“If you are bold enough, do the same thing BLord did, I will send you to prison, and there is nothing anyone can do about it. I deal with people, I catch criminals, and I don’t sympathize,” he added.
VeryDarkMan also drew a distinction between activism and what he described as “online policing,” insisting that his role involves calling out alleged wrongdoing on the internet.
“You are an activist, I am an online police. I call out criminals and sanitize the internet,” he stated.
Continuing, he said, “On God, if you cross this path, I, VeryDarkMan, will send you to prison. If you’re a man, step forward.”
He further claimed involvement in BLord’s legal troubles, stating, “Also, let it be known that in a country where people use money and connections to escape justice, I sent a man (Blord) seen as powerful and well-connected to the Kuje Correctional Centre. Knowledge is indeed power.”
