A Nigerian lady, Chiluba Chukwuba has said she would rather be struck with Polio than be a poor young girl getting married to a poor man.
She stated this in reaction to stories of teenage girls and young women from poor backgrounds who marry poor men.
“I’ll rather be struck with POLIO than to be a 18-22 years old poor girl getting married to a poor man. If you’re a poor girl, the last thing that should be on your mind is marriage to a poor man . What are you marrying for ? Don’t even have boyfriend, go and hustle,” she wrote.
