A Nigerian woman, Hope Chinenye has said she has been feeling ‘caged’ in her marriage and would love to get a divorce if not for the distress the decision will cause her parents.

The mother of two stated this in a Facebook post on Sunday.

“If not for my parents ( my mum precisely) I would have love to get a divorce bcoz I hate restrictions that comes with marriage….. But all the same who knows maybe 2026 I will walk out again bcoz I hate the fact that I am not free to do so many things I use to do,” she wrote.

“Note: if you hear tomorrow that I am not married anymore remember it was my decision to be free from bondage and has nothing to do with my current husband. Lately I feel caged.”
