Famous Nigerian Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde, professionally known as Kwam1, has stated that he is a Christian and not Muslim.

This is contrary to the public assumption that Kwam1 is a Muslim due to his first name, Wasiu, and how his mother was buried.

However, speaking about his religious faith on the Agbaletu Radiovision podcast, the ‘Ade Ori Okin’ hitmaker revealed that he is a devoted member of the Celestial Church of Christ.

While reflecting on his spiritual journey, the 68-year-old Fuji icon noted that he had sought divine intervention across the two religions and explored various avenues to connect with God during his difficult times.

“Yes, I attend the Celestial church, I’m a bonafide member of the Celestial church of Christ, a proud one. In fact, I built a church.

“During my difficult time, I sought religion and the face of God in two different ways. There’s no place I didn’t seek God’s face,” he said.

The revelation came as surprised to his fans.

NEWSUNPLUG reports that Kwam1 buried his mother, Alhaja Halima Anifowoshe in January 2025, according to Islamic rites.
