Veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has revealed that he prefers staying silent over speaking negatively about his ex-wife, Ireti Doyle.
The former couple, who tied the knot in 2004 and officially divorced in 2023, have maintained a professional relationship despite their separation, even co-starring in the 2023 thriller *The Black Book*.
Speaking on TVC’s *Wake Up Nigeria*, Doyle was asked about his relationship with Ireti. He responded by explaining that his “anointing” prevents him from speaking ill of anyone.
He stated, “If I don’t have anything positive to say about someone, I would rather keep quiet. My anointing does not allow me to speak badly of anyone, living or deceased.
“I’m glad the Doyle name has opened opportunities for her, and she has upheld the family name. She’s excelling in her career, and I’m proud of her accomplishments. I hope she continues on this path.”
Earlier in June, Doyle had mentioned that Ireti still uses his surname in the industry, but he clarified that it does not define him.
He explained, “My work speaks for itself and cannot be defined by anyone. The Doyle name existed before her, and it’s understandable that she chose to keep it after our separation. I have no issues with that.”
