Nigerian Afro-house queen Niniola Apata has shut down rumours claiming she secretly tied the knot.

Social media had been buzzing with gist that the “Maradona” crooner allegedly reduced her public presence because she got married quietly. But Niniola has now cleared the air, and sis is very much single.

During a chat with Yanga FM Lagos, Niniola stated plainly that there’s no hidden husband anywhere. She explained that her break from the spotlight had nothing to do with marriage, and fans should kindly stop jumping to conclusions.

Addressing claims that she may be keeping a supposed marriage under wraps to avoid losing bookings or industry influence, the singer laughed it off, saying there was simply no truth in any of it.

In her words:

“I don’t care whatever anyone does or says [about my personal life]. After all, I’m not a 12-year-old. I’m old enough to say whatever I want with my full chest. I’m not married.”

Niniola also spoke on why she and her younger sister Teni haven’t collaborated yet despite fans begging for it. According to her, music is business, and they won’t rush a joint project just because they’re sisters.

She made it clear that when the timing, planning, and creative alignment are right, the Apata sisters will give fans the collaboration they’ve been waiting for and it will be worth the hype.

For now, Niniola says she’s locked in and focused on new music, and fans should expect her back on stage very soon.
