Reality TV star Mercy Eke says she’s fully prepared to embrace motherhood on her own terms even if it means having children outside of marriage.
In a recent interview, Mercy explained that she is independent, focused, and confident in her ability to care for herself and her future family. According to her, she has worked hard enough to comfortably raise up to three children on her own.
The media personality shared that she hopes to have three kids two girls and a boy and doesn’t consider marriage a requirement for starting a family.
Mercy added that society’s judgment about women having children without a partner mostly affects those who lack financial stability. She believes she is ready to challenge that narrative and build the family she envisions.
She said:
“I’m ready to have a child outside marriage, this year I wanted to have a baby, something happened and I had to choose between that and the baby. At this point, I think if I get pregnant now, I’m just going to have my baby. I have worked so hard, and I think I can take care of myself and three kids. I’m a goal-oriented person that always sets things ahead for myself.”
“For me, what people don’t know is all this stigma of having kids without a father is only applied to people who don’t have things going on well for them,” she added.
