Iran’s military has vowed to launch “crushing” attacks against the United States and Israel following threats by US President Donald Trump to bomb the country into the “Stone Age” in the coming weeks.
The warning was issued on Thursday by Iran’s operational military command, Khatam Al-Anbiya, in a statement broadcast on state television.
“With trust in Almighty God, this war will continue until your humiliation, disgrace, permanent and certain regret, and surrender,” the statement read.
“Await our more crushing, broader, and more destructive actions.”
The threat marks a further escalation in tensions as the conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel continues to intensify.
Trump’s speech,offering few details of an exit strategy, did little to calm oil markets. Both the global and US oil benchmarks surged following his address.
