Prominent businessman and socialite Isaac Fayose has stated that former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai merits the scrutiny he is currently facing from the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu.

El-Rufai is reportedly being investigated over an alleged ₦432 billion corruption case tied to his tenure as governor.

In an Instagram post, Fayose disclosed that he declined to participate in a protest reportedly organised to call for El-Rufai’s release, insisting that the former governor “deserves all he gets.”

Fayose criticized El-Rufai’s administration for creating religious tensions in Kaduna State.

“Under his leadership, Kaduna became predominantly Muslim, leaving Christians vulnerable,” he said.

He added that previous administrations had maintained a political balance by allocating the deputy governorship to Christians, a practice he claims El-Rufai disrupted.

Fayose emphasized that he would not back any demonstrations in El-Rufai’s favor, asserting that his loyalty lies with Nigeria rather than any political party.

“I am not and will never be a member of the ADC. I belong only to the ‘Nigerian Party.’ I support what benefits Nigerians. The only candidate I like is Peter Obi,” he concluded, referring to the former presidential candidate.
