Nigerian Fuji maestro King Wasiu Ayinde, better known as Kwam1 or K1, has stirred the internet as he revealed his interest in the throne of the Awulaje of Ijebuland.
In a letter of intent shared online, the Fuji singer revealed his intention for the prestigious throne. He noted that he is a bona fide son of the Ruling House of Agunsebi Quarters, tracing his ancestry to the Oba Jadiara lineage, which qualifies him to present himself for consideration in accordance with established tradition.
Kwam1 stated that he has devoted five decades to promoting Ijebu, Yoruba, and Nigerian culture through music and cultural enterprises. He added that in the course of his service, he has received various traditional and national honours, including his installation as Mayegun of Yorubaland, the National Honour of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON), and conferred as Olori Omo-Oba and Otunba Afidipotemole of Akile Ijebu.

The news has left many divided as they noted how he isn’t deemed fit for the throne.
