Popular Nigerian gospel artist and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has shared the remarkable story of how he met his wife, attributing their union to divine direction and God’s perfect timing.
Bassey described their journey to marriage as one rooted in faith, patience, and total trust in God’s plan.
He recounted that his wife had embarked on a month-long fast in her church themed “Two Is Better Than One.” During that period, she strongly sensed that Bassey was the man ordained for her but sought a clear confirmation from God before taking any action.
According to Bassey, her prayer for a sign was answered unexpectedly during a church service. While reading from Isaiah 64, the officiating pastor mentioned Bassey’s name twice by mistake. However, the repetition turned out to be the divine sign she had asked for, confirming God’s will concerning her future.
That moment gave her the assurance she needed, and soon after, their marriage journey began.
Reflecting on the encounter, Bassey encouraged Christians to trust in God’s direction, especially regarding relationships and life decisions. He stressed that prayer, patience, and sensitivity to divine signals can lead to blessings that surpass human expectations.
