The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has vowed that the head coach of the Super Eagles, Eric Chelle, will not leave his role.
NFF president, Ibrahim Gusau, has made it clear the 44-year-old has one year left on his current contract and enjoys working with top quality players.
This comes amid reports that Chelle is being targeted by several teams, following the Eagles’ impressive outing at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
“We still have a one-year contract with Eric (Chelle) and no matter what, he has to wait until his contract expires,” Gusau said, according to SoccerNet.
“And we don’t want to bring distraction to him, because we understand that he enjoys working with Nigeria.
“It’s not the issue of the money, but will he achieve what he wants to achieve in his career?”
