Popular French journalist and pundit Daniel Riolo has slammed Lionel Messi, claiming the Argentine has never been committed to Paris Saint-Germain.

This follows multiple reports linking the Argentine star away from the French capital.

Doubts about Messi’s future in Paris have increased in recent weeks as his contract with Les Parisiens expires at the end of the season.

PSG want to keep the 35-year-old, but it appears the World Cup winner is no longer cool with life in France.

RMC Sport reports that Messi will part ways with PSG this summer, with LaLiga football chief categorically stating that the 7-time Ballon d’Or winner will leave France.

“He never gave a damn about PSG. Quite simply, he couldn’t stay at Barcelona and PSG were the only club that could pay a salary that lived up to his expectations. What else did he do?

“The years at PSG have shown that when the stakes rise, he disappears. The Messi we see in Paris is at an average level, and it’s also a bit sad. He scored a few goals against medium-small level teams, but then what did he do in the Champions League? Riolo told Tutto Mercato Web.

The sports journalist suggested that the Argentina legend deliberately missed a penalty in the round of sixteen of the Champions League against Real Madrid and did not put in any effort to help the French side win the game and repeated the same display of lack of willpower as they crashed out on the stage again this season.
