Fulham star, Alex Iwobi is confident the Super Eagles will earn a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Eric Chelle’s side managed to secure a place in the playoffs after a poor start to their qualifying campaign.

Nigeria finished second in Group C behind the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

The Super Eagles will face the Panthers of Gabon in the semi-final of the playoffs on Thursday, 13 November in Rabat, Morocco.

Iwobi said they will do their best to secure a place at the mundial.

“We’ve managed to rescue ourselves from the dead,” Iwobi told CNN.

“We know we have the players and the abilities to compete against any other country in the world,” he added.

“We have last year’s African best player (Ademola Lookman), the year before that (Victor Osimhen). It’ll be a shame if we don’t make it, but we have a lot of confidence. We just have to prove it to ourselves.”
