Businesswoman Obanla Elizabeth, popularly known as Obanla Lizzy and alleged former godmother to actress Lizzy Anjorin, has responded to those questioning the depth of her relationship with Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo.
Obanla took to Instagram on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, where she shared throwback photos dating back to 2013 and 2014. According to her, the pictures serve as proof that her relationship with Iyabo Ojo has existed for many years, long before recent controversies surrounding them.
Addressing her critics, the businesswoman appeared to take a swipe at individuals she described as “emergency friends,” accusing them of getting close to Iyabo Ojo only when they wanted to gain attention or relevance.
Speaking about her bond with the actress, Obanla wrote: “Iyabo Ojo is my junior sister and she will remain till Christ come back, she will choose me over.”
Her post comes shortly after Iyabo Ojo faced criticism for inviting Obanla Lizzy to her grandson’s birthday celebration. Some social media users questioned the invitation because of Obanla’s reported past relationship with Lizzy Anjorin as her former godmother.
However, Iyabo Ojo appeared to put the speculation to rest by commenting under Obanla’s post. She acknowledged their long-standing relationship, writing: “We have come a long way, thank God for life 🙏 ❤️”
Iyabo’s comment appeared to reinforce Obanla’s claim that their friendship goes back years, suggesting that the recent controversy has not affected their bond.
