Jadon Sancho’s move to Man Utd edges closer

The rise of Jadon Sancho to the top echelons of European football over the last 12 months has been something special.

The Englishman’s move to Borussia Dortmund in 2017 has paid off: the 20-year-old can look back on a remarkable 2019/20 season.

In his 44 games in all competitions, Sancho scored 20 goals and assisted in another 20, remarkable figures for such a young player.

The former Manchester City striker’s performance on the pitch has been rigorously linked to his return to the Premier League.

Manchester United are the team most often associated with Sancho, and it seems that there has been an update on the Red Devils’ pursuit of the Dortmund star.

Duncan Castles reports that personal terms have now been agreed between Sancho and United.

Ian McGarry added in the transfer podcast that a five-year contract has been agreed in principle between the two parties.

Sancho would start with a salary of £140,000 per week, which would rise to around £200,000 per week as the agreement progressed.

Danny Ryan of GIVEMESPORT says…
Be careful with these recent revelations, dear United fans.

Just a few days ago it was reported that senior officials of the club were only willing to pay £50 million for Sancho.

The agreement on personal conditions is of course an important step in the right direction, but United would still be faced with the arduous task of negotiating a transfer fee with Dortmund.

And let’s face it, the German club will not let a player worth over £100 million leave for half that fee, regardless of the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.

There is certainly room for optimism here, United fans, but don’t take for granted that a string of attacks with Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial for the 2020/21 season is now a given.
