Former US President, Joe Biden was recently spotted with a large bandage on his head following surgery to treat skin cancer.

The 82-year-old underwent Mohs surgery, a procedure in which thin layers of cancerous tissue are removed and examined until no abnormal cells remain. It is unclear what type of skin cancer Biden had.

Footage captured over U.S. Labor Day weekend showed Biden leaving a church service in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, with a visible wound on his head. He was also seen wearing a baseball cap during a visit to a local ice cream shop, seemingly to cover the area. Days later, he attended the funeral of former Delaware Gov. and U.S. Rep. Mike Castle with the bandage still in place.

The surgery comes on top of other health concerns. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Biden has Stage 4 prostate cancer that has spread to his bones. Doctors classified it as highly aggressive, giving it a Gleason score of 9 and a Grade Group of 5 — the most severe rating.

In 2023, Jill Biden also underwent Mohs surgery to remove multiple lesions, including one near her eye. That same year, doctors removed a basal cell carcinoma from Joe Biden’s chest, after which he was briefly declared cancer-free.

Despite his ongoing treatments, Biden has continued making public appearances, though recent images and video have raised concerns about his health and frailty.
