Men of the Lagos state police command have arrested a woman for physically assaulting a minor residing with her.
In a video that went viral, a male neighbour had challenged the woman for maltreating a minor girl. He accosted the woman while she was forcing the minor to bathe naked on the street. The woman was unperturbed when the male neighbour challenged her and even dared him to report her to the authorities.
Reacting to the viral video, the spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the woman identified as Funmi Faith, has been arrested, while the minor has been handed over to the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development for proper care and shelter.
He wrote;
‘’The woman captured in a now viral video maltreating a female child, 32-year-old Funmi Faith, has been arrested.
She was arrested by police officers from the Oke-odo Division yesterday, Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
Meanwhile, the child has been handed over to the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development for proper care and shelter.”
