The Lagos State Government, through the Office of the Public Defender (OPD), has rescued two minors, aged 4 (male) and 15 months (female), who were neglected by their father in the Awoyaya area of Lagos.

The Office of the Public Defender (OPD), was able to rescue the children after responding to an SOS message sent by Good Samaritans via its Facebook platform in respect of two children.

The kind-hearted Lagosians on Jan 23, 2024, narrated how the children were neglected and physically abused by their father.

OPD rescue team took steps to ensure the children were rescued with the help of the Police.

They received much needed medical support and have been placed in safe custody.
