Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has commented on why Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham failed to make an impact during both teams’ La Liga derby on Sunday.
Simeone’s men defeated Real Madrid 3-1 at the Metropolitano Stadium as Bellingham, who has been impressive for Los Blancos so far this season, failed to help Carlo Ancelotti’s side secure a point.
A brace from Alvaro Morata and a goal from Antoine Griezmann ensured Atletico defeated Real Madrid.
Toni Kroos did score a goal against the host during the encounter.
Speaking at a post-match press conference, Simeone gave his opinion on Bellingham’s performance.
He said (h/t Madrid Zone): “Jude Bellingham often takes advantage of Joselu’s aerial game. Without Joselu his spaces were reduced.”
The result against Atletico Madrid leaves Real Madrid in third position behind leaders Barcelona and second-placed Girona.
