The very jersey number Lionel Messi would be wearing on his return to Barcelona has been revealed.
Makers of Barcelona’s kits, Nike has asked Ansu Fati, who wears the number 10 shirt at the Catalan side, to give it up should the veteran attacker makes the sensational return.
According to Sportskeeda, Nike wants to maximize their shirt sales and this could only be possible with Messi, wearing the coveted number 10.
The 20-year-old Ansu Fati has not been available to carry the weight of the number on his back.
Fati has previously appeared in several ad campaigns for the apparels makers and also wears their Zoom Mercurial Vapor 15 cleats.
Ansu Fati was handed down the revered shirt after Lionel Messi departed Barcelona for PSG in 2021.
