Sevilla manager, Matías Almeyda, has praised Super Eagles players Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke for their dedication to the club.
This is coming after the players forfeited their break after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to help the club avoid defeat against Elche in the LaLiga on Monday night.
Sevilla settled for a 2-2 draw against Elche, with Super Eagles striker, Adams, netting both goals.
Almeyda talked about how the two Nigerian players showed commitment to the club.
He told reporters after the game, “I really value the dedication of Akor and Ejuke, who came here even though they couldn’t see their families.”
Almeyda also talked about how important their presence was in the team, explaining that their return greatly lifted the group’s spirits and helped them play better.
He said, “The guys who are returning from the cup are really helping us out a lot. I need to thank them for their dedication; they didn’t get to see their families and came here.
He also said, “I really value them forfeiting their vacations to be here and support each other.”
Adams, who had a great performance with the Super Eagles, came back to Sevilla in good form.
As mentioned earlier, Adams, who scored two goals and made two assists during the Africa Cup of Nations, came on as a substitute against Elche and scored two goals.
His goals helped Sevilla get a vital point in a tough 2-2 draw, finishing a difficult time for the team and giving the squad a much-needed boost.
Chidera Ejuke was also important in the game, helping Sevilla try to come back after falling behind.
