A final year student of Delta State College of Nursing, Agbor, Awele Agatha Eluemunor was accidentally k!lled by a learner driver in Ika South Local Government Area of the state.

The accident occurred at about 10pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 when the suspect, said to be a 100-level student of University of Delta (Unidel) was being taught how to drive by her boyfriend on the major road.

According to reports, the Unidel student lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road and knocked down several pedestrians.

23-year-old Awele, who was set to graduate in November 2025, d!ed on the spot.

Two other victims remain in critical condition and are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

It was gathered that her boyfriend, who owns the car, fled the accident scene, leaving the young driver behind.

It was further learnt that after she was arrested on Thursday, the suspect demanded the police permit her to go write her exams which led to a protest by nursing students.

The deceased was laid to rest in her hometown in Ogwashi-Uku, on Friday, February 21.
