Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has spoken out following her support for Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, as she attempts to break the Guinness World Record again.
Newsunplug reported that the chef, who made history two years back for her marathon cooking, is back at it again. This time, the celebrity chef is attempting to cook the biggest pot of Jollof Rice, with 200 bags of rice.
The event, which started on Friday at Eko Hotel, has attracted a massive crowd eager to witness Baci’s groundbreaking achievement.
Funke Akindele, Enioluwa, Tomike, Pastor Idowu and Ogun State Governor’s wife, Bamidele Abiodun, have supported her.
Taking to her Instagram page to share clips from her visit to the event, Akindele expressed how excited she is to celebrate creativity and determination with a side of Jollof.
She said she had a blast supporting Hilda as she expressed how proud she is to be a part of a community that uplifts and inspires young creatives to dream big and push boundaries. Funke admonished the public to keep celebrating talents and striving for greatness.

Recall that in June 2023, Hilda, broke Guinness Book of Records as she achieved a 100-hour record time of marathon cooking. The then 26-year-old Nigerian chef cooked over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen stint, at the Amore Gardens, Lekki.
After the 100th hour, Hilda displaced Lata Tondon, an Indian chef who achieved the feat in 2019 with 87 hours 45 minutes record uninterrupted cooking.
Guinness World Records later confirmed Hilda Baci as the record holder after being mercilessly dragged by Nigerians. However, because of problems with her resting hours, Hilda’s record time was reduced to 93 hours and 11 minutes, as opposed to the 100 hours she cooked for.
Unfortunately for her, her title didn’t last long as in November, an Ireland chef, Alan Fisher, completed an astonishing cooking marathon of 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan.
Following this, Hilda had updated her Instagram bio, stating that she remains a record holder in spirit and history. However, she had chosen to celebrate her predecessor for his achievement and spirit of competition.
