Nigeria forward, Terem Moffi has requested the termination of his contract with French club, OGC Nice, NEWSUNPLUG reports.
Moffi, and Ivory Coast international Jeremie Boga were assaulted by Nice fans last November following their 3-1 defeat to Lorient.
The 26-year-old has been on sick leave since the incident.
According to the authoritative French news outlet, L’Equipe, the striker’s lawyers have validated the request, referencing articles 51 and 265 of the professional football charter.
The case is expected to be reviewed on Thursday.
Moffi has a contract with Nice until June 2027.
