The list of the 10 most creative players across Europe this season has been revealed.

According to FBref, Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes is a more creative player than departing Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi.

The data for the analysis has been collected on the basis of the most shot-creating chances made by players this term.

Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann (158) is tenth on the list, while Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Stade Rennais’ Benjamin Bourigeaud are joint eighth on the list (161).

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Jonas Hofmann are joint sixth (163).

LOSC Lille’s Remy Cabella starts the top five (174), while Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne (176) is a surprise fourth, as many would have expected the Belgian to be among the top three.

Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier occupied the third position as he created 178 chances.

Messi is second with 189 chances to his name, and Fernandes is a distant first, creating 219 chances.
