Liverpool have condemned the racist abuse targeted at defender Ibrahima Konate, following their victory over Galatasaray in a UEFA Champions League earlier this week.
The Reds thrashed the Turkish champions 4-0 to seal a 4-1 aggregate win to qualify for the quarter-finals.
But the result of the game at Anfield has been overshadowed by online abuse directed at Konaté.
The Frenchman accidentally collided with Victor Osimhen, leading to a serious arm injury for the Nigerian striker.
But in a statement on social, Liverpool frowned at the attacks directed at the player.
“Liverpool FC is appalled and disgusted by the vile and abhorrent racist abuse directed at Ibrahima Konaté on social media,” the statement said.
