Fans were left in tears after hearing what Mavin Records artiste, Charles Chibuzor Chukwu, popularly known as Crayon, said during his mother’s burial ceremony.
The singer had earlier announced his mother’s passing in a heartfelt social media post in July, expressing that she was the backbone of their family and carried their burdens without ever complaining.
In a circulating video from the funeral, Crayon is seen standing before his mother’s coffin, visibly heartbroken. Despite people trying to console him, the singer continued to speak, saying he meant every word he uttered while gazing at his late mother.
Crayon revealed that his mother had sold fruits at Iyana Iba for over 21 years to support the family. He praised her sacrifices, noting that she raised him and his siblings through sheer hard work and determination.
With tears in his eyes, the artist promised to keep pursuing his music career a dream his mother always encouraged him to follow. He affectionately referred to her as “baby”, expressing his eternal love and promising they would meet again someday.
Crayon has often spoken openly about his humble beginnings and the struggles his family endured. In previous interviews, he credited his mother’s strength and resilience for shaping the person he is today.
The touching video of his tribute stirred deep emotions online, with many fans sending prayers and comforting messages. Several admitted they were moved to tears, while one lady confessed that losing her mother would be her greatest fear.
