Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s mother, Pamela Warner, has challenged claims made by the late actor’s widow, Tenisha Warner, in an ongoing dispute over his estate. JoinActing Classes

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Pamela disputed Tenisha’s allegations that Malcolm failed to comply with the terms of a prenuptial agreement and did not provide a $1 million life insurance policy for her and their daughter, Mackenzie Warner.

Pamela said she had attempted to resolve the dispute privately and claimed she offered to give Mackenzie the overwhelming majority of the trust Malcolm left behind.

According to her filing, Pamela proposed taking a one-time payment while allowing the remainder of the estate assets to go to Mackenzie. She said those assets included a $2 million life insurance policy, a separate Georgia trust Malcolm used to purchase a home for his wife and daughter, and a retirement plan worth about $2.4 million that was left to Tenisha. Pamela alleged that Tenisha rejected efforts to settle the matter privately and instead filed a lawsuit. She said she subsequently reached a settlement directly with Mackenzie’s court-appointed guardian.

Pamela argued that the dispute should not be about Tenisha’s feelings or what either party believes they are entitled to, maintaining that Malcolm had always made clear that he intended for his mother to receive part of his estate because of their close relationship and her years working as his manager.

She is asking the court to approve the settlement reached with Mackenzie and to dismiss Tenisha’s separate lawsuit in Georgia. Tenisha previously sued Pamela over Malcolm’s estate, claiming the actor had promised to provide for her financially under a prenuptial agreement signed in 2022.

According to Tenisha’s filing, Malcolm agreed to maintain a $1 million life insurance policy naming her as the sole beneficiary. She alleged that he never obtained the policy before his death in July 2025 at the age of 54. Tenisha also claimed Malcolm had agreed to pay her $5,000 a month for working as his chief of staff and assistant and alleged that he owed her approximately $1.2 million.

She further accused Pamela of failing to cooperate with her in resolving issues surrounding the estate. The competing claims remain before the courts and have not been finally determined.
