The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 67-year-old man, Mahmud Adamu, for alleged sexual assault on minors.
The police said the man, a resident of Sabon Layi in Ganye town of Ganye LGA, confessed to a habit of fingering young girls.
The police added, through its image maker, Suleiman Nguroje, that the suspect has owned up to sexually assaulting three teenagers on separate occasions in his area.
Nguroje quoted the suspect as recounting how he usually caresses the girls before inserting his fingers in their private parts to satisfy his urges.
Adamu said he started the act in 2023 whenever his wife travelled.
He said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Babatola Afolabi, has, in light of the development, advised parents to be vigilant with people who demonstrate undue friendship with their children.
