A young man has allegedly m8rdered his friend after withdrawing N2m from the deceased’s bank account.

The incident happened in Calabar, Cross River state on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

Journalist, Agba Jalingo, who confirmed the incident in a Facebook post on Monday, said the deceased discovered that the suspect fraudulently withdrew the sum of N2m from his account and confronted him.

The suspect lured the deceived to his house, k!lled him, dismembered the body and hid the parts in a sack.

“Yesterday, a young man staying around spring road, killed and butchered his friend, then put his pieces in a sack. Information from reliable sources revealed that the suspect who is now at large, withdrew 2million Naira, from the deceased account and when the deceased raised alarm, the suspect lured him to his (suspect) house, k!lled and butchered him into a sack in his room. The step mother to the suspect was arrested today in the house and detained at State CID as nobody is yet to identify the corpse of the deceased. The step mother is accused of being around when the victim was k!lled and of lying to the Police about events that transpired,” the journalist wrote.
