Manchester City are set to complete the signing of Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo for £65 million, with the player expected to undergo a medical ahead of the move.

According to the BBC, the Premier League champions have agreed to trigger Semenyo’s £65m release clause, which must be activated by January 10. The deal is expected to be finalised before Saturday.

Semenyo is scheduled to have his medical after Bournemouth’s Premier League clash against Tottenham on Wednesday evening.

Despite interest from several top clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham, City are the only side to have made formal contact with Bournemouth and progressed talks to an advanced stage.

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola hinted that the winger’s time at the club may be nearing an end, though he stressed that no deal has been officially concluded.

“I think it could be the last game,” Iraola said ahead of his side’s match against Tottenham. “That is my personal opinion, but there is nothing agreed and nothing signed. It is my understanding of the market and the noise around it, but right now there is nothing agreed.

“He is still our player and I hope it continues,” he added.

Semenyo has enjoyed an impressive season, scoring nine goals and registering three assists for Bournemouth so far. He joined the club from Bristol City in 2023 for a fee in excess of £10 million and has since established himself as one of the standout attacking players in the Premier League.
