A kidnapped victim identified only as Mr Segiru has regained his freedom, Two months after his abduction in Edo State.

DAILY POST gathered that the victim and his wife, identified as Mrs. Zainab, were kidnapped on November 22, 2025, at Aviele community, near Auchi, in Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.

The abductee was reportedly released by his captors on Wednesday.

A video that surfaced on social media showed him in high spirits, surrounded by individuals believed to be his relatives and friends.

In the footage, he was seen pointing at his clothes and saying, “This is my dress, it’s a white jalabia, it’s white, but it has turned black,” apparently referring to his ordeal in captivity.

Following the abduction, the kidnappers released a video of the couple and demanded a ransom of N50 million for their release.

The video showed the victims, including the pregnant wife, appealing for assistance to raise the ransom.

It was, however, gathered that the family was only able to raise about N7 million at the time.

His wife had earlier been released after a ransom was reportedly paid.
